Over the years, we've worked hard to provide customers with high-quality plants and services, and we've received numerous accolades regarding the quality of our plants and services. To improve our business and service, we also continue to address shortcomings in the transaction process.
Our business also relies on the sale of imported plants. At the same time, due to the Italian government's strict management of imported plants, all imported plants must have the original growing materials removed and be bare-rooted when they enter Italy. We understand and always comply with relevant government regulations, even if they affect the condition of the plants themselves. What we can do is provide customers with the tools they need to help them make informed plant choices, thus strengthening their trust both in us and in the cultivation of new plants.
In orchid greenhouses around the world, with the exception of a small number of bare-root plants, most orchids are planted in sphagnum moss substrates. During the export process, removing the original sphagnum moss causes the root system to break and new wounds to form, which can lead to infections. Although we only use air freight, shipping times are strictly controlled within 24-36 hours, and plants are packaged within 5 days, with the exception of certain orchid species, such as Phalaenopsis and Cattleya, and some sensitive varieties. This process is sufficient to damage the root system. Indeed, orchids are relatively strong plants. After some root systems are damaged, with proper methods and procedures, orchids can adapt to their new environment and develop new roots.
For newly imported plants with a poor root system, here are some of our suggested treatment procedures:
1. Remove the damaged root system and let it dry for a while to help the wound heal;
2. Grow plants with suitable substrates and keep the surface moist;
3. Most plants can quickly grow new roots;
At the same time, we would like to emphasize a few points:
1. Please fully understand the import situation. And have a basic understanding of orchid care and proper care for newly arrived plants.
2. If only perfect plants are accepted, such as the perfect root system of Phalaenopsis sold in supermarkets, newly imported plants cannot meet this standard. For Phalaenopsis, the root system of all imported Phalaenopsis plants suffers from breakage (this cannot be avoided when the original sphagnum moss is removed by the orchid exporter).
3. If you are not very experienced, please do not place an order for newly imported plants, to avoid losses for you (or us);
4. If you don't have much experience, you can give priority to our non-import orchids, many of which have already developed new root systems on the farm.
Your suggestions are always welcome. Thank you.
